Skokie SwiFters Run/Walk Club
Celebrate Gratitude Month
Seems like a good day for a Graffle: a gratitude raffle. For National Gratitude Month, we want to encourage you all to acknowledge and share the goodness that surrounds us. From now until December 5, we want to hear all you are grateful for. Here are a few ways we can think of, but feel free to come up with your own:
share a story of gratitude or kind words for a fellow Swifter on our socials.
make a donation or volunteer your time for a local food pantry, animal shelter or group in need of support.
appreciate yourself, with positive affirmations and/or moving your body by running, walking, etc.
This gratitude challenge will run through December 5, when we’ll raffle off prizes as we celebrate all our Swifter friends. Make and tag your posts with #Swiftitude and #SwifterSpirit so we get you entered.
Skokie Swifters is a running and walking club for everyone from beginners to experienced distance runners. Whether you want to get moving outside, are looking to make some new friends, or need a little motivation while you train for an upcoming race, you'll find a welcome community in the Swifters. Read more about our mission.
Check out the calendar page for details about our weekly Tuesday Trails and Saturday Scamper meetups and special events. And check out the race log to see what other Swifters are running, and if you feel inspired, sign up for a race and let us know!
Upcoming Events
THE FIFTH ANNUAL END OF THE DUMPSTER FIRE YEAR/SO LONG 2024 20-ISH MILER
Our annual year-end tradition is back for a 5th year! And this year, it's on a Tuesday! Instead of our usual Tuesday Trails, come experience this Swifty wrap-up.
On Tuesday, December 31, Captain Swifter & Co will be running the entirety of the North Branch Trail of the Cook County Forest Preserves system--20.3 miles in total! Many folks will be hopping on the trail for a few miles along the way, and others will be coming to cheer and spectate. Whatever your involvement, check out all the details and please let us know if you'd like to come on out!
This is an altogether run - meaning it's not a race and it's not meant to be fast. This is a let's-enjoy-each-other's-company-and-be-grateful-that-we-GET-to-run run. Full details here.
