Skokie Swifters is a running and walking club for everyone from beginners to experienced distance runners. Whether you want to get moving outside, are looking to make some new friends, or need a little motivation while you train for an upcoming race, you'll find a welcome community in the Swifters. Read more about our mission.
Check out the calendar page for details about our weekly Tuesday Trails and Saturday Scamper meetups and special events. And check out the race log to see what other Swifters are running, and if you feel inspired, sign up for a race and let us know!
Happy Earth Month, Swifters!
We’ll be encouraging you all month long to consider ways to help our precious home. Use cloth bags instead of plastic. Turn off lights and water you aren’t using. Thrift and avoid buying new. And come join us for a special edition of our weekly Tuesday Trails on April 22 to help us clean up our beloved Skokie Valley Line path with the Village of Skokie’s #CleanGreenSkokie initiative! We’ll provide the supplies; you provide the enthusiasm. Let’s take care of Mother Earth, together!
Join us on Earth Day for a special Tuesday Trails! We’ll be participating in our community’s Clean Green Skokie annual clean up event. To help our beloved path look beautiful, we’ll be dedicating time during this Tuesday run/walk to picking up garbage along the path. Safety vests, bags, and gloves will be provided - you just have to bring your enthusiasm! Hope to see you then - we need all hands on deck for this one!
Join the Skokie Swifters at the Barre for an 80s themed workout class. Wear your Flash Dance gear and make a donation to the Niles Township Food Pantry (suggested donation $20).
At 6:15 we will move next door to have dinner at Great Coast Commons. Please let Tricia know if you will join us for dinner so she can make reservations.
Save the date! June 29th is our next book club. We'll be reading and discussing “Slow AF Run Club” by Martinius Evans. Fill out this form by May 6th to participate in the group order.
This event will serve as our Saturday Scamper for that day, and while you can attend the event for free, registration will include your official participation in the 5k fun run and a t-shirt.
Please fill out this form by April 28 if you would like to take advantage of group discount pricing (current individual pricing is $30, and group pricing will be less dependent on how many people sign up). More info will follow after the deadline.
Save the date for a special Tuesday Swift-raiser! Meet at 6:00pm as usual for our run/walk, then head back to the tap room for a fundraiser for our club! We’ll have raffle tickets available ($1 each/$5 for 6 tix) for you to drop into various buckets for super sweet prizes! Stay tuned, as we’ll be featuring some of the prizes available in the next few weeks. Hope to see you and your Swifty support then!
